On the road of the Warm Heart of Africa
Because Africa isn’t only about safaris, beaches or village visits, we will take you to one of Malawi’s best kept secret, the tea plantation. Tea enthusiasts or occasional tea drinkers will love to hear more about the production before doing a tea-tasting. And if you feel like going on a hike, our guide will take you on some of Malawi’s greatest hiking trails.
You will then head to one of Malawi’s greatest game reserve; Liwonde NP. Many ways to spot the wildlife here; boat safaris on the Shire River, game drives or even nature walks & trails. Trips to community projects in nearby villages and Nanthomba schools are also popular
After your Malawian safari experience, you will enjoy spending some time by the beach on the shores of the Lake Malawi. Scuba diving or snorkeling in the clear water of the lake but also sailing or kayaking will be some of your favorite activities.
Capital of the country, Lilongwe will be a perfect stopover to discover the city life for a day. The local market is a must do to find the perfect fabric to bring back home.
60km Southwest of Lilongwe, Dzalanyama Forest is a great place to explore, numerous hills to hike and waterfalls to discover. Only one accommodation available in the area so you will only be sharing the forest with the amazing birdlife. We will take you on a village visit where you will meet the locals and spend some time with them.
SOUTH LUANGWA NP
To culminate your trip, you will cross the border and reach the neighboring country, Zambia. South Luangwa NP is by far, one of the best game reserves in Africa, where game drives and walking safaris are at their best. Plenty of lodges to be found in the park but we have our favorites, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
The Black Sheep's choice
Imagine sleeping on a remote island like a modern Robinson Crusoe, without electricity, showering with a bucket shower? Yes, at The Black Sheep, we can make it happen! No worries, you won’t sleep on the floor, but in a nice chalet overlooking the Lake Malawi.
Malawi and hikes in the same sentence? YES, and we have the perfect off-beaten path trekking for you! Whether you prefer going on a one day tour or a multiday trip, we can’t wait for you to explore Mulanje Mountains.
Visiting a village with The Black Sheep is not your usual village tour. We will take you to a rural school but also to a local brewery. You will even have the chance to taste their home-made gin after cooking and sharing a traditional lunch with the locals.
