Some bush and some beach, please?
The South African capital will be your first stop on this trip. We will invite you to spend one or two nights there for the pleasure of discovering the cultural heritage, the history as well as the modernism of the city of Gold. Between craft markets, trendy districts and museums such as Apartheid or Constitution Hills, Joburg has not finished to surprise you!
BLYDE RIVER CANYON
It is the perfect stopover between Johannesburg and the reserves near the Kruger NP. We have a few options of lodges and guesthouses in the area which will allow you to take your time on the Panorama Route, with its several breathtaking viewpoints of the Canyon!
In this itinerary, our choice is the southern region of the Kruger; in particular the famous Sabi Sands reserve, open to the Kruger. Renowned for being exclusive and high standard, The Black Sheep has a selection of accommodation to help you discover the abundant wildlife (including the BIG 5) as well as a multitude of birds, ideal for our photographer friends!
Once you cross the border, your first stopover in Mozambique will be the cultural and vibrant capital that is Maputo with its marina and colorful markets!
To ensure the success of this safari-beaching itinerary, your stay will end on the Machangulo peninsula located in front of Maputo. This nature reserve offers idyllic beaches, diving spots and protected wildlife. A small excursion to the island of Inhaca can be a plus if you want to discover more nature and pristine waters …
The Black Sheep's choice
Johannesburg is known for its museums and Soweto but also for its night life and you can’t miss out on this! We will take you on a night out with locals in some of the trendiest bars in town. Can’t promise you won’t go home without a “babalas”.
Imagine sleeping out in a luxury train that was hosting explorers 100 years ago and overlooking the Sabi river and the Kruger NP?
Yes, we can make it happen just for you! You can even swim in the pool while watching from above the hippos and crocodiles having their own bath.
Who never dreamt of an idyllic picnic or sunset on an empty sandbar in Mozambique? Well, apparently at The Black Sheep, we are also dream makers because your piña colada is already waiting for you there! We dare you to find something more romantic.
