Vilankulos
The charming coastal town of Vilankulos faces the Bazaruto Archipelago. It offers a wide range of activities to do from having a stroll on the long pristine beaches, going on a day excursion on a typical Dhow to one of the Bazaruto islands or treating yourself with some kite surfing or scuba-diving lessons.
The best way to explore the town is by jumping on a tuk-tuk and asking locals to take you to the Capulanas shops and walking around the local market.
The Bazaruto Archipelago
The Bazaruto Archipelago consists of five tropical islands, Bazaruto and Benguerra being the two key ones.

The wildlife won’t disappoint you with the turtles nesting between October and March or the whales making their annual migration from July to November.
Inhambane
Besides having wonderful wide beaches, the holiday villages of Tofo and Barra promise a lively atmosphere to the travelers. All the activities such as snorkeling, scuba-diving, stand-up paddle, kayaking on the mangrove or cultural trips are available.
The Inhambane province is also world renowned for being home to Manta Reef, a wonderful diving spot where you can swim along whale-sharks or manta rays.

local currency is Metical although US Dollars and South African Rands are also accepted.
When to go
Mozambique is a sunny country all year round, but the dry months of April to November are the best to visit the country. November to March are the rainy months, although it can get hot and humid.
What Else
With a 2 500km coastline, Mozambique has some other places worth visiting such as the North of the country with the port town of Pemba and the Quirimbas archipelago, promising a private island escape.
